Some More About Ergonomic Furniture

It is therefore important to set up the workstation properly to increase one’s productivity and quality of work. One of the factors considered is that aspect is the ergonomic office furniture. In one of the studies conducted, it shows that more than half of employees who are using computers for 15 hors a week experience musculosketal problems in their first year in the job. Ergonomic office furniture when arranged properly will help all employees as a whole. Before anything else, an ergonomic evaluator will see the following:

• The workplace setup which affects posture, duration of time in that particular position in doing the job, type of movement, or the repetition of the movement

• The surrounding of workplace including work surface, noise level, lighting, humidity and temperature.

• Device used in performing the job like scanning machines or computer mouse.

One of the ergonomic office furniture featured are CPU or computer holders, flat screen monitor arms, keyboard drawers, keyboard trays, mobile pedestals or files, personal task lighting. Chairs are also given special attention because this is the place where we are always at. Sitting for a long time is not relaxing as what others think. It causes pressure to the back part of body. The gravity affects the flow of the blood which makes a sluggish return to the heart. There are also guidelines in working with computers which includes the proper height of keyboard, alignment of arms and distances of various things from the reach of the user.

As a summary, we need to have a proper working position in order to avoid stress in different parts of the body. To increase or comfort we need to have tools to our size and to our preferences. We can also have certain eye exercises and stretches while in the process of doing the task. In this way, we will be relieved for a meantime in doing the job and from stress as well.
